Job Profile:
- As part of the Graphics & Marketing team, the Graphic/Web Designer will work closely on the Creative front to design the tasks given based on our organization.
- Maintaining quality control and a consistent overall look and feel.
- He/She will be responsible for supporting us in all facets of our existing website and execution of our future endeavours.
- User experience, web site creative production and external online marketing assets are added benefit.
- The person must have front end programming capabilities and be able to create content specifications and design guidelines for an online environment which also plays a critical role in creative marketing initiatives.
- Responsible for creating graphic elements, visual designs, image/content updates, online product marketing launches, and promotions on existing sites.
- Design, develop and produce web promotions and external collateral for new and existing product launches,banners,3rd party promotions emails, and overall visual site enhancements
- Maintain brand standards including images, messages, style, logo usage, and other graphics elements. Conceptualize ideas and execute clean and compelling designs.
Assignment Length & Hours:
- Ideal availability would be a minimum of 15 – 20 hrs per week.
- This is an unpaid internship.
- Interns will also have the opportunity to be involved with and participate in interesting events and trainings.
- Internship could last from 10 weeks to 6 months.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for quality control and assurance of new content and features;
- Audits priority pages in production;
- Coordinates and reports on production support requests from intake to execution;
- Creates a campaign repository of major communications and development initiatives;
- Assists with managing presence on social networks such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.
Qualifications:
- Current college student (preferably 2rd or 3rd year) or recent college graduate;
- Academic coursework or professional/ internship experience in one or more creative marketing disciplines: design, digital media, publication production, writing;
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written); and experience proofreading documents;
- Experience using all MS Office suite software; Experience with HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, and/or JavaScript is a plus;
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment;
- Personal passion for humanitarian aid around the world and here at home;
- Highly organized and detail-oriented;

Technical Qualifications:
- Prepare platform on new host Structure, build, develop theme and set permissions for loading ZAV’s website including: Static Content; Related Content; News, Videos, Photos, Podcasts; Manual setting of SEO; Contact us forms; RSS; AlterNet feed; Send to a friend; APIs for donations; Search; Forums; Geographic data; Workflow; Google Analytics tracking; Social networking etc.
- Provide documentation and training Provide accurate level of effort time estimates Provide recommendations for future features/releases Assist in deployment execution activities Backup Strong knowledge of Drupal framework is primary Internal API-s and experience developing Drupal custom modules is highly desirable.
