How to apply:

Following steps are involved in the internship process. Use the steps in the order mentioned.

* Apply for internship before Mar 15, 2010.

  • Take permission from the Principal / Head of your department / senior faculty member for a reference.
  • Use this link for registration.

The Department of Computer Science and Automation (CSA), Indian Institute of Science, announces the UGC (University Grants Commission) Summer Internship Programme. The Department is currently a UGC Centre for Advanced Study and the Summer Internship Programme is generously sponsored by the UGC.

  • The summer internship is open to bright and motivated second year and third year B.E./B.Tech students in India, who have secured at least 70 percent or an equivalent grade in their B.E./B.Tech program so far.
  • The internship program will be for two months, strictly during the period May 15, 2010 – July 15, 2010.
  • The interns will be provided a fellowship amount of Rs. 3000 per month and some contingency amount for academic expenses,
  • The interns will not be provided accommodation in the IISc campus and will have to look for their own accommodation. Also, it is preferable that the interns use their own laptops for the computational work. Networking and Internet resources will be provided by the Department of CSA.

Summer Research Fellowship Programme at IIT Delhi (posted on-05/03/10)

How to apply:

The application form should be downloaded from IIT Delhi website. The applicant must contact IIT Delhi faculty in whose area she/he wishes to execute research and get faculty member’s concurrence in writing on the
form. She/he should submit the following:

  • Application form duly recommended by IITD faculty member
  • Resume
  • One consolidated grade card; and rank in class.
  • No Objection Certificate from the parent institution stating the starting and ending dates for carrying out full time research work at IIT Delhi under the fellowship programme.
  • One photograph (Passport size), pasted on the application form.
  • One reference letter in a sealed envelope.

Where to submit:
The above documents along with covering letter should reach the Deputy Registrar UGS, IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi 110 016.

Timeline
Deadline Applications will be received until 17:00 hours on 12th March, 2010.
Decision List of Fellows will be announced by 26th March, 2010.
Start Summer work can start after 07th May 2010. Institute vacation periods are available on the website.

Eligibility: Any undergraduate student, who has completed at least 2 years of study towards an engineering degree, is amongst top ten positions in her/his respective programme will be eligible to apply for this fellowship. Students who will be completing this requirement by May 2010 are also eligible

Duration The Fellowship work can be done in a period of 8-12 weeks which can be availed of during at most two visits.

IIT Delhi has instituted a prestigious summer research fellowship programme for providing an opportunity to exceptionally good undergraduate students of different engineering institutes in India, other than IIT Delhi (and if possible, abroad) for Top ten of the classes to execute an innovative research and development project under the guidance of an IIT Delhi faculty. The fellow will register at IIT Delhi as a casual student; she/he will not be required to pay institute registration fees.

The eligibility and selection procedure are given below:

1. B. Tech. III year students will be given preference, but B. Tech. II year students may also apply. B.Tech. CS/ECE/IT students of III year only will be considered for Internship without the scholarship.

3. Selection will be made based on a Merit list prepared using the CGPA / marks and the write up, as given above.

4. Upto eight students may be selected for the Internship (subject to availability of faculty). A maximum of five eligible students from the merit list will be awarded the Microsoft scholarship. The other students, if any, in the list, may take the training without the scholarship, if they so desire.

5. All students selected for the internship will be required to deposit Rs. 5,000 per month with the Institute. All expenses, including travel and accommodation, will have to be borne by the students themselves. A limited number of rooms will be made available in the campus for accommodation.

6. Students who are awarded the Microsoft scholarship will be given a scholarship of Rs. 10,000.
