Accommodation:

Housing and three meals per day are provided for farm interns at a basic daily fee choosing from various housing options available. Food is served buffet style, and is organic vegetarian; either grown here on the farm or sourced locally from partner farms.

Description: Internships at the farm in Dehradun are typically a mixture of hands-on experiential learning in combination with a research project. During that time, farm interns will be expected to help with the daily work of the farm, including planting, weeding, harvesting, seed keeping, etc. In addition, interns will submit a research proposal that will highlight what they expect to complete during their time at Bija Vidyapeeth. While living and learning at the farm is often an interactive experience, there is also the expectation that interns will be able to work independently on their research projects with minimal supervision. Interns are expected to bring their own laptop computer to work on, as there is only one office computer that is shared amongst volunteers and staff. There is wi-fi access in the farm office. All internships with Navdanya are on a voluntary basis and are unpaid. Previous interns have undertaken to seek out grants or outside funding sources to pay for their time here.  Interns get the benefit of joining the courses that are ongoing at the farm at the regular daily rate, dependent upon availability.
