This specific job post is for the Mt. Everest of all internship positions – an internship to act like the founder of a startup. Are you up to the task?
Let me elaborate: We have two founders here at En Route, Paul and Varun. A startup means handling everything of a company – marketing, sales, R&D, finance, admin, HR, etc, etc, etc. So basically there is a bucketload of work and our days just don’t seem long enough. What we want is somebody to come in with a similar mindset to ours – take this opportunity at hand and carve out a fun and successful company from it. So you would basically act as if its your own company, think of both its overall strategy and goals and also its intricate details to make sure we actually execute this.
We believe this is a great opportunity to use your strengths and learnings to help out, but also sharpen those weaknesses each one of us has.
According to me:
Pros – Starting up without the risk of starting up, learning a lot of stuff (especially in the media/advertising industry), building something from scratch, huge responsibility
Cons – Lots of work (expect your mind to be occupied 24/7 even if you’re on the job 10 hrs 5 days every week), less structure than your average corporation
