Research Internship:

Details:Moving steps ahead on the new HRD initiative of CSIR stemming from Diamond Jubilee celebrations, IITR, a constituent national laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) invites applications from young and meritorious Indian nationals who are creative, have a passion and desire to pursue R&D related to Science and Technology, for engagement of Science at IITR. The internship is meant to be preparatory phase for the young interns in imbibing the spirit of enquiry and learning the tools and techniques related to R&D through participation and doing. The Intern shall have no claim for further extension, absorption or regularization in CSIR after the expiry/termination of the internship.

The streams of sciences, eligibility criteria and other requirements are given below.

1.Environmental Toxicology/Food, Chemical and Drug Toxicology/System Toxicology and Health Risk Assessment/Regulatory Toxicology and Nanomaterial Toxicology.

2. No. of positions: 10 (Ten). The actual no. may vary according to the needs and suitability of the candidates. A panel may be drawn for future engagement.

3.Essential Qualification: First class M.Sc. in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Life Science/Microbiology/Zoology/Genetics/ Bioinformatics/Mathematics.

General Conditions for the above Positions:

1. Age limit: 25 years (Relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/OBC, Physically Handicapped and Female candidates).

2. Stipend: Rs. 11,500.00 per month (fixed)

3. Tenure: Maximum two years from the date of joining and not extendable under any circumstances. Performance of the interns will be reviewed every six month. In case the performance is not satisfactory, the internship will be terminated with one month’s notice or one month’s stipend in lieu thereof. During the internship period the intern would be free to appear for NET/GATE and secure regular fellowship for doing Ph.D.

4. Selection will be based on candidate’s academic records, and/or(b) performance in the test, and (c) interview.

5. Mere fulfillment of eligibility criteria will not entitle the applicant to be called for the Test/Interview.

6. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the test/interview.
