Catalyst India Benchmarking Study:Catalyst is seeking the support of a qualified researcher/consultant in Mumbai, to support the 2010 Catalyst India Benchmarking Study on the retention, development, and advancement of women in corporate India.

The researcher/consultant will:

1. Be available for part-time work, with a minimum 6-month commitment
2. Work remotely and be available for in-person meetings as needed
3. Have access to a PC/laptop and a high-speed internet connection

Scope of Services:

1. Conduct in depth social science and business literature reviews pertaining to the region.
2. Manage database of targeted companies and regularly update contact information.
3. Recruit companies for participation in the survey, track and monitor response rate, and follow-up as needed.
4. Set up interviews with senior executives in select companies.
5. Conduct data cleaning and statistical analysis.
6. Summarize statistical results in charts and graphs.
7. Provide support for other research projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Consultant should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
• At least one year of graduate level coursework in a relevant social science discipline (i.e. economics, HR, sociology, psychology, women studies, and business).
• At least one graduate level course in quantitative methods and demonstrated intermediate knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS.

Interest in learning how to conduct research on issues pertaining to women and work and to communicate with academic, business, and policy audiences is important.
