According to Wikipedia, an intern is one who works in a temporary position with an emphasis on on-the-job training rather than merely employment. You could be a student or about to start a new career for yourself.
As an Intern in Volunteering India you will be unpaid as we lack resources to support you, but on the other hand we will support you completely and make sure that your experience with us makes you a thorough professional in your work life. The skills required for the assignment provided to you would be provided. The time for the Internship could be 6-12 weeks, but can be shorter or longer.
These are the kinds of Internship that we offer:
Work experience Internship: Most often this will be in the second or third year of the school or College period. The placement can be from 2 months to sometimes even one full year (it’s your wish). During this period the intern is supposed to use the things he has learned in College or school and put it in practice. This way the Interns gets work experience in their field of study. The gained experience will be helpful to finish up the last year of the study.
Research Internship (graduation) or dissertation Internship: This is mostly done by students that are in their last year. With this kind of Internship a student does research for Volunteering India or one of our subsidiary organizations. There are many areas where we need inputs after intense research. You can help us with that through these efforts.
Another kind of Internship will be those students interested in taking a year off after completing their undergraduate degree to give them an opportunity to travel or do some kind of volunteer work or Internship. They may not feel quite ready to settle down in a job or make decisions based on establishing a career or settling down in a new location.
The focus areas of Internship could be in health care, women’s issues, and education of children, culture, child development, sustainable development, and income generation. However, Volunteering India can craft an Internship projects in nearly any area you wish.
Support for your Internship with us.
You would need support for travel, stay and our fee. Academic credit is a possibility for many Internships. However, the Internship will need to be approved for credit by your college and you may need a faculty sponsor. The Internship sponsor must also agree to supervise and evaluate the Internship experience. In many, cases there are school deadlines for applying for credit, so check soon with the appropriate department at your institution.
We will provide you full details as to what is expected of you before the start of the Internship. We will discuss the details and the logistics with the Internship sponsor before you start, so the Internship will be a positive experience for both you and Volunteering India.

All of us have heard much about Saving Mother Earth. International summits have been taken place in the name of ‘Environment’; articles, poems and books were written; Leaders, celebrities, news channels and many other have said much over this ‘Environment’ matter. But the question is who comes forward to do something? The right answer would be “Myself”. Yes, everyone should come forward to do something for the society we are living in. We each have a responsibility to make a difference in the world.
Quite similar to the saying “The journey of thousand miles begins with one step” Every great work has made possible only by a few individuals; a few individuals who has got the burning passion to change things to better. Here is a group of a few of such beings who dedicated themselves for the common good of down trodden and neglected around them. And, of course, their very thoughts shaped out Volunteering India.
The Organization:
Volunteering India, a subsidiary of the Society for Promotion of Environment and Sustainable Development (Regd. under Rajasthan Societies Reg. Act No.78, 1958) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental volunteer organization which aims at all round development of rural India. The organization is based at Jaipur in Rajasthan, India.
The organization is actively involved in:–
- Protection of Environment;
- Rural and sustainable development;
- Rainwater harvesting;
- Promotion of wastelands and
- Women-child and family welfare & education.
The activities of Volunteering India are completely non-profitable and provide wide range of serving opportunities to enthusiastic youth and optimum utilization of human resources in rural areas.
The Team
A group of friends with similar ideology forms the core of Volunteering India. This group which consists of persons with different professional backgrounds administers all the activities of the organization. A team of dynamic and educated executives put into operation the plans proposed by the core committee. They move ahead in the direction of educating rural population about various issues relating to environmental protection and sustainable development. Apart from these, volunteering India has a competent network of skillful youth to undertake various projects of survey, social education and awareness.
Location
It is quite appropriate to mention here “Charity begins at home”. Well, Volunteering India at present concentrated its activities mainly in Rajasthan, a north western state of India. Volunteering India believes in motivating and educating individuals in a way they can put their whole hearted efforts towards the true aim of human life — serving the society that brought us up, shaping up our surroundings into a better perspective. Living for the benefit of everyone and setting oneself as an example for the future generations.
Volunteering India has been formulating schemes to bring together those who are young at heart and zealous to learn, have fun, travel and at the same time passionate to attain the priceless satisfaction by doing something for the benefit of mankind. In the perspective of this core concept Volunteering India is promoting the concepts of eco?tourism and rural tourism for those who are eager to invite exciting and meaningful experiences.
