We encourage qualified individuals to apply, whether undergraduates, graduate students and also those between degrees. We welcome students who have studied disciplines related to our work (insurance, economics, development studies, marketing, business admin-istration etc.) but will also consider applicants without formal academic training that show a high potential for learning and a genuine commitment to helping poor communities. We would also gladly consider hosting academics wishing to spend part of their sabbatical leave performing groundbreaking research or fieldwork with the MIA.
- We look for the following qualities:
- Cross-cultural work style: ability to adapt to a new and changing workplace
- Ability to work independently, manage tight deadlines, and set project goals
- Commitment to intern for 4 months or more
Interns will work within one of our departments: Operations or Research & Training. Our directors and staff will assist in developing the intern’s workplan so that both MIA and the intern can derive mutual benefit.
