Desired candidate profile:

  • So we are looking for those who are comfortable with astrology, numerology and vastu.
  • For software programmer qualifications are B.tech, MCA and knowledge of PHP and asp.net

Company profile:

“The events which led to my exploring the varied dimensions of astrology make up a long journey. As a child I would often watch my father and elder paternal uncle offer advice to clients. They were both renowned for their prophecies, not only in Rampura Phul (Bhatinda), our ancestral home but also gave predictions regarding the entire state and its erstwhile rulers.”

“Though I had great admiration for their powers and the respect they generated amongst the people, I always wanted to follow a different profession and became a mechanical engineer. But no one can change the destiny. It was destined to become an astrologer. It was only after my predictions for friends and near ones and a few note worthies like death predictions or for acquaintances came true that I reverted back to the following of my ancestors. Then I made a numerous predictions, which were published in the National and Regional Dailies and came true.”

“Due to my scientific background, the first few years I spent in detailed research and study of astronomy, astrology, numerology, gemology, and Tantras. The Lal Kitab and various other ancient Indian treatises served as a fascinating cornucopia, which I explored along with an increasing clientele whom I value as friends and followers today. After being awarded a degree of Ph.D. for research in Astrological positions and their effect on marriages, providing Astro-consultation to solve people’s problems has become the sole purpose of my life.” “Can my astrological guidance change your destiny? A question I have been often asked. My reply is that at the right time, the right code of conduct and the right method to perform a task always aid success whether in a career, business, marriage or even life. I firmly believe in the Indian tenets, which say that the actions of our past lives determine the present and on the whole the events in our life are predetermined by the combination > of stellar positions at the time of our conception, birth and then at the time of the happening.” “Can my astrological guidance change the course of events? No, but the right remedy, which can be as simple as wearing a particular gemstone or feeding green fodder to some cows, etc. can diminish the impact of a miss-happening or bring in pleasure back into your life after a span of discord.”

Internship-Media:

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO FIRST:

There are a few things you need to to before applying:

  1. Familiarise yourself with the Newswatch site first. Do not apply for an internship if you have no clue what this site is about.
  2. We are a news media site. So do not apply for an internship if all you want to do is write about films or cricket. But if you want to write about the relationship between cinema and media, or media and cricket, that would be a welcome idea.
  3. Our emphasis is on reportage and analyses. Do not apply if you want to write rambling opinion pieces.

ADVANTAGE OF INTERNING WITH NEWSWATCH:

There are a number of factors that work in your favour if you do an internship with Newswatch:

  1. We accept applications round the year. Therefore, you do not have to be concerned about juggling your academic schedule with the internship.
  2. You do not have to physically attend an office. So, you can telecommute, and pace yourself. Work from home, work from college, work from wherever it suits your convenience.
  3. You will not be able to grab the eyeballs of millions of ordinary readers, but you stand with the chance of being noticed by senior journalists / editors from the world over who frequent this site.
  4. Unlike college project reports which remain confined to dusty cupboards, you stand the chance of actually being published and noticed for the work you have done.
  5. You are free to do as many projects with us as you can.

Company profile:

Newswatch.in is an online monitor of the news industry and the journalism profession. The site was launched on August 1, 2005. newswatch.in, to borrow a worn-out dotgone cliche, is a portal. To steal another hackneyed phrase from the zillions who are quoted day in and out, we are “different”. newswatch.in is a website which provides news (and occasionally, views) about what is pertinent to newspeople.

Broadly speaking, newswatch.in is indeed a media site. But we desist from dubbing ourselves “media people”. Even advertising and PR professionals are mediapersons. We deal with journalists, journalism, and what is of immediate relevance for journalists. To be specific still, we deal with the news media. Everything else is secondary.

On one hand, you have the big “media” sites which have precious little to do with journalists, but more to do with advertising, marketing, and sales. On the other, you have the media critics. That is why you have this site. newswatch.in does not stand anywhere in between; we are different. Browse through this site, and you will agree why.

newswatch.in publishes information from sites / newspapers / magazines etc, which we perceive as having some credibility. We don’t claim authenticity for any information provided by others since we believe the credibility of the information always lies with the source. All articles, especially those which have been published elsewhere, are properly attributed.

Unlike normal blogs, this site publishes relatively long extracts from elsewhere on the World Wide Web. This is done with a reason. Quite often, sites change their links or the articles are deleted from the archives altogether. Since we are here to disseminate information, it would be self-defeating if we provide links that lead nowhere. Moreover, since we don’t claim copyright over anything which has not been written by us, it should not matter. We abide by a crystal clear fair use policy.

The newswatch.in site currently has seven channels:

* NewsBlog: Content presented in a blog-type format. Scope: International
* News Features: Content presented in a blog-type format. Scope: International
* Impressions: First-hand accounts
* Research: Original media content analysis reports
* Media Culpa: Blog that looks at grammr, usage, style and bias in the Indian news media
* The Expressionist: Blog that documents assaults on freedom of expression in India
* Newspaedia: Ongoing project that is a ready-reckoner of press freedom and journalism

Location:

5-10K based on skill level & experience.

Duration:

2-3 months

Desired candidate profile:

  • Under graduate , Recent graduates & Post-Graduate students.

Internship-Multilple Openings:

Development Internship: Our dev interns are not code monkeys. Far from it, a Geek internship will give you the opportunity to learn and apply a number of technologies, working closely with other developers on multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll be included in all phases of a project, starting with creative concepting. We’ll treat you like a full-time employee, in terms of responsibilities and time invested. On the flip side, you’ll work hard and will be expected to add value to your team. (You’ll have fun too.)

We generally hire two dev intern per season. Interested applicants should know Flash, CSS, Actionscript, JavaScript, PHP, HTML and MySQL. Tech speak aside, a passion for experimenting, learning and innovating is a must.

Application requirements: resume, cover letter, code sample (preferably AS3), link to portfolio (if applicable).

Design Internship:You’ll work with a variety of digital media to design and build eye-popping work (think motion graphics, games, etc.). While specific responsibilities are reliant on previous experience, rest assured you’ll have ample opportunity to practice new skills and express your ideas in a collaborative, creative environment. Since we typically hire three design interns per season, you’ll learn alongside fellow students too.

A general understanding of (and love for) digital design is essential, so make sure you’ve got a solid handle on composition, animation, motion graphics, video and typography. As for specific programs, you should have working knowledge of Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator. It’ll help to know AfterEffects and 3D software too.
Application requirements: resume, cover letter, portfolio (online or electronic, please).

Production Internship:So you’re interested in interactve production. Then perhaps you noticed the obvious typo in the previous sentence? Producers are sticklers for details. They also have an affinity for organization, a given for a job that balances everything from budgets to timelines to the ever-important client relationship.

Among their chief duties, producers (interns included) guide and motivate their teams in order to keep projects moving efficiently. Expect to see such projects through completion while handling managerial duties large or small – or both, depending on your level of experience. Since we usually hire just one production intern per season, multi-tasking is a prerequisite.

Application requirements: resume, cover letter.

Strategy Internship: Like any good strategist, you ask “why?” a lot. As a strategy intern, you’ll spot and analyze research and trends, synthesizing your findings into presentations. Expect to scour the internet (incessantly), join our brainstorming sessions and contribute to our Think blog.

We typically hire one strategy intern per season, so you’ll be busy working on internal projects as well as client engagements, all the while improving your written and vocal communication skills.

Application requirements: resume, cover letter, writing sample (your choice).

Company profile:

Geek is a startup agency of young and dynamic individuals from the Advertising and IT backgrounds. We offer Brand-led creative solutions that put you up on the online map, standing taller. Geek will work with anyone, as long as the challenge is big.
